What I love about Christmas| Blogmas day 2

Hello guys and welcome to Blogmas day 2!

In this post I am going to be telling you guys, what I love about Christmas. Every year I always love reading these sort of posts because people love different things about Christmas. I am very nosey so I like to read about what people love.

Here is what I love about Christmas:

I love the build up to Christmas

I love seeing all of the Christmas bits in the shops and all of the Christmas songs on the radio. I think the build up is such a big vital part of Christmas, it goes on for such a long time and I love it. I love the whole counting down the days till Christmas idea, we sometimes have a chalk board in our house where we write how many days left till Christmas. I love seeing all of the Christmasy colours that come to life this time of year, so all of the reds, the greens, the whites and the golds. These colours are so pretty! I also love doing my Christmas shopping (I normally leave it to the last minute so throughout December) i love buying Christmas decorations for my room and like wrapping paper to wrap peoples presents. It all starts to come together in the build up.

I love spending time around Christmas with my family

On Christmas Day, my dad normally comes down to stay with us which is really nice as we don’t live with him. My sister, brother in law and nephew always stay round and my nephew Jacob who is 3 gets so excited! this year we also have a new member to the family to experience Christmas for the first time, my beautiful Niece Kiara.

I feel like because the days get colder and the days get darker quicker every one wants to stay indoors and have like hot drinks and stews and stuff, its nice for the family to come over a couple of times during the month.
The Christmas books that come out
At this time of year the Christmas novels and Christmas cook books are always on the shelves, I recently got the signed copy of the Tanya’s Christmas and I love it! I love getting into the Christmas mood through reading a nice Christmas novel! you always get the magazines too that are promoting a lot of Christmas food and also Christmas recipes which I think is good. Tescos / Asda do a free magazine that I love to pick up every now and again and have a flick through it.

I love the festive baking

I love baking gingerbread men and gingerbread houses, especially if you have someone younger in your family- its nice to bake with them. I love the whole making mince pies and just baking good food together.

Getting lots of good food & drink / Christmas dinner

Around this time of year you get the best food!!! All of the chocolate boxes, the variety of cheeses and the cocktails. I can’t wait to have some pigs in blanket crisps, I spotted them in Asda a while ago and I can’t wait to eat them. Christmas dinner is literally a whole new subject. Christmas dinner makes Christmas. Without Christmas dinner, what even is Christmas.. just joking.. but Christmas dinner is the best. I love the stuffing, all of the different types of meat/bird ( if you have bird)  the pigs in blankets, the potatoes! ahh I cant wait.

Being able to buy gifts for my family, boyfriend and friends

I love that I am able to buy presents for my family. I am very lucky in the sense that I also have a job aswell as going to uni, I am so grateful to have a job because I can surprise people with gifts. I am definitely someone who prefers to give gifts then receive them, I normally get more excited then them anyway.

Christmas films

This is definitely a big one for me because every Christmas Eve, me and my sister will sit down and watch our favourite Christmas films until it is really late. Then on Christmas Day, when our family is round we will all be sat on the sofa full from Christmas dinner watching a Christmas film on tv. There are always the best Christmas films on during the day. Even throughout the month of December they play some good films!

Its a magical time of year

This time of year is just so magical, it only happens once a year and everyone looks forward to it. I love the whole idea of Christmas in general, like Santa and his reindeers and his elves. I just think it is so lovely. Especially for younger children, who normally get really excited ( don’t get me wrong I am 20, and I am still so excited for Christmas ) but it is more magical for them. To leave a mince pie out and a glass of milk out for Santa and a Carrot for the reindeer. I like that it is coming to the end of the year and you can look back on the year you have had and end it with a good Christmas. The idea that New Years is just around the corner excites me.

What are some of the things that you love about Christmas?
