Waiting for the Christmas treats and desserts to reach the stores is one of my favourite things every year. I love seeing what looks tasty and what will give me inspiration when it comes to Christmas baking. This year I really wanted to make a Yule log because I have never made one before and not only did I want to try something new, I wanted something that would give me a good chocolate fix. I always think that Yule logs look so magical, as each one is different from the next and there is always something really christmasy about them. Anyway, here I am with this post as I make my Christmas Yule log.
There are two very different ways to make Yule logs. One way is to pour the cake mixture into a tin, then to roll it out like a Swiss roll. However, I think I did it the easier way, the disguised cupcake way. You would never be able to tell, because when you cut into it all you get is pure chocolate. I wanted to do it this way because it is such an amazing recipe that someone might want to make on Christmas Day and I wanted it to be the quickest way possible so you aren’t in the kitchen all day.
