Animal print, hot or not?

You will have seen by now that every fashion blogger, instagramer and celebrity is living their best life in animal print. Yes, animal print has made a statement and everyone is incorporating it into their wardrobe, including me. At first I didn’t know how I felt about the trend as I have always thought that animal print gave me Kat Slater vibes. However, once I bought this tiger skirt I was obsessed with how it looked and this outfit as a whole. Cheetah and snake print seem to be the most popular prints that I have seen, however it’s so important to know that just because someone else likes something it doesn’t mean you have to, just to fit in. I prefer tiger print or zebra print and im ok with that. I am the type of person that will want to mix things up abit and wear something different. I feel like cheetah print is a little bit over done as we have seen it done so many times and snake print just doesnt seem appealing to me what so ever, probably because i hate snakes. It’s a no from me.

If you are someone who is bit on the fence about wearing animal print then in this post I am going to show you how I wore it and hopefully it may give you some inspo.

I don’t think I have ever owned such a flattering, cosy, easy to wear with any thing kinda jumper before. Since I brought this i have been wanting to wear it everyday because i just love it so much. It is such a flattering jumper as it sits really nicely on my body, it doesn’t accentuate my shoulders but it accentuates my chest area.. if you know what i mean. It is ribbed and has a high neck which is perfect for the cold days that we currently have, especially in the UK. It has really big cuffs on the arms and this adds such a cosy vibe to it and this is literally the kind of jumper you would see on a model on instagram. I love the fitting of it as it is a little cropped but only a little bit, perfect to pair with this skirt or high waisted jeans. This jumper is actually a petite item, but i got it in size M/L as i wanted it really baggy. It also comes in grey and orange and i am debating whether to get the orange? decisions decisions..

Petite Rib Knit High Neck Jumper – £12

This is my go to belt, as you would probably have seen from my instagram and because this belt is black it means that it goes with everything, which is so easy to just throw it on with high waisted jeans and live your best life. It has a double chain on the front which everyone was saying this belt was a dupe for the Gucci belt. I guess it kind of is, and if you want a cheeky dupe then this is perfect. I love wearing belts because it just pinches my waist in a tad and looks really flattering. You could wear this outfit without the belt, but the belt just separates the jumper and the skirt and adds more depth.

Plus Double Ring Buckle Belt – £6

Why do I think animal print is so popular?

Towards the end of 2018, you saw a lot of animal print appearing in the fashion shows such as Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana.  Then there were so many celebrities that were wearing animal print such as Bella Hadid and Victoria Beckham, they obviously set the trend that kick started it all off.  I think that with animal print you can either wear it really out there or wear it quite toned down. It looks good either way but its nice to see people experimenting with it. There are so many different types of animal print and its great to see how people are styling it.

This skirt is definitely something new that I have added to my all year round wardrobe. I like wearing these skirts during the summer, but this winter they have become so popular. I decided to get one as I absolutely loved the animal print pattern and was drawn to this animal print in particular. The orange is such a bold colour and it is such a good way to incorporate bright colours such as orange into your wardrobe. This skirt is definitely a statement piece so I would pair it with something that doesn’t have much detail, such as this jumper. I also think it would look amazing with a black body suit! YESS! one thing i LOVE about this skirt, is that it has a little slit down the side. This is such a nice little touch, pair it with some high heels and a cheeky lace body suit, this will look so sexy.

I wear these ankle boots all of the time because they are so comfy, they go with everything and I can literally wear these all day. You could wear any type of boots with this skirt and it would look perfect. Depending on what you are wearing this outfit for, you could wear heels, black sandals (in the summer) or even black high top converse.

Ankle Boots. This picture is different from the one above, I swear

What are your thoughts on animal print? do you think it will go out of trend any time soon or do you think it is here till summer?

Can really appreciate this blog. I’ve always been a huge leopard print fan, for years! I think it’s really admirable to say that you’re not going to wear something just because it’s ‘trending’ – especially as a blogger! Xxx

I never used to wear animal print until a few years ago when I borrowed my daughter’s scarf and I was sold. I now love wearing animal print especially around the fall. I also did a blog post on it.
