Being a blogger is a bloody hard job and since I started, I have always looked out for ways that will make blogging easier. I have found a couple of ways that have helped me so much and have literally changed the game for me. Some of these ‘hacks’ might already be quite well known, but if there are any new bloggers reading this then I hope it helps you!
Have you ever tried to take pictures of beauty products and they just keep falling over? You have to keep standing them up and try to get them to stay without falling. You might even have to rearrange the whole situation you having going on, to try and stop it falling over. WELL… the first tip is…→
Use white tac to hold the beauty products down.
THIS LITERALLY CHANGED MY ‘TAKING PICTURES OF BEAUTY PRODUCTS GAME. So in this picture you can obviously see the white tac, because I wanted to show you guys. But, when you do it for the real deal, do it do you can’t see the white tac. So all you do is grab some white tac (I prefer white tac because I don’t think it stands out as much as blue tac) and place it onto the product and stick it to whatever it is balancing on. For example, if I am trying to take a picture of a lipstick and it keeps falling down then I will put white tac on the bottom of the lipstick and stick it down. It will stick down and you can move the product without getting stressed about it keep falling over.
This one is such an obvious one, but I wanted to include it incase of any new bloggers out there that didn’t know this. The second one is.. →
Get some wallpaper that you love and use it as your backdrop for pictures
If you are struggling with getting a good looking back ground for your blog pictures, then going into your nearest DIY type shop and ripping off a strip of wallpaper will make them look so much better.
The second one leads me on to my third one.. sometimes I don’t want to take pictures on a hard surface. I might want to take pictures on my bed because it is bigger, but it will be a bumpy surface. So when you put products on top of the wallpaper, it will crease because it isn’t a flat hard surface. The third one is…→
Get a something hard and flat to put under the wallpaperThis is going to make your life easier as you will be able to take blog pictures anywhere. If you have a small room and take blog pictures on your bed, this is going to be perfect for you. When you put the board under the wallpaper, it is going to give it a flat surface to stand up properly. Without the board the weight of the product is going to weigh down on the wallpaper and make it crinkle. With the board you can see that the product sits on a flat surface and that is what you are trying to do (well if you are trying to do that)
Sometimes it does take me a long time to edit my blog pictures especially if I am taking blog pictures around a time that is dark. You have to wait for natural light which is annoying depending on where about’s you live and what the weather is like. You might have to edit them like crazy for the brightness to be really good. The fourth tip is…→
Get yourself a ring light or a light boxOk this one changed my blogging game and my selfie game LOL. I literally don’t have to edit my blog pictures because the ring light makes them look gorgeous. Also because I film youtube videos this ring light is definitely needed for that. Also you can take wicked pictures with the ring light!!! Definitely an essential. It also means that you can take blog pictures WHENEVER YOU WANT! you could take them at 12pm or even if you woke up at 4am in the morning, whack your camera out and turn your ring light on and get taking pictures. What I really like about this also is that the picture will be the same white tone, without the ring light you don’t get this. You want everything to look even.
When it comes to blogging, it doesn’t just entail you picking up your laptop and writing out a blog post. It is a lot more. The scheduling of tweets, Instagram pictures, youtube videos ,replying to about 100 emails a day, taking lots of blog pictures and Instagrams. There is so much more to blogging then what people think. All of this plus everything else that goes on in your life, YOU NEED TO STAY ON TOP OF IT. Bringing me on to what The fifth tip is…→
Post it notes your to do list
This one is so helpful. Get yourself a pack of post it notes, where they come in different colours like green, pink, yellow and orange. For each colour, dedicate one colour to a different parts. For example for Youtube I have it on the yellow post its and for emails I have it on Orange. Then if you have emails you need to respond to, write it down on the allocated colour and stick it to the wall in front of you. That way you will look at the wall and instantly see what you need to do. Then take it off when you have done it.
There you have it, my five blogging tips! Some of these are pretty obvious and if you have been blogging a long time then you will probably know some of these. I know there are a lot of new bloggers out there, therefore I hope it helps you. Also I wanted to share what helps me when it comes to blogging. Let me know if this helped you at all!
